Jazzclub Live: Beat Freisen's Spelunkenorchester
For 13 years, the Spelunkenorchester has been on a mission to enchant dodgy pubs, Saxon opera houses and their visitors with chamber music. When a classical string quartet meets a jazz piano trio, the possibilities seem endless. Perhaps it is - string movements are followed by orchestral passages, quiet nocturnes give way to sprawling soundscapes, interwoven with fleeting improvisations. If an ensemble can convey a message, then it is "that of the boundlessness of music, of the eternal search for new possibilities of expression, and ultimately also that of the art of deep fusion of the most diverse musical styles. All of this, of course, without any compulsion to possibly give up one's own way of making music at some point and somehow," it was said in the Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten. Cheers: our dive is open to you!
