High we want to live!
The legendary Jazzclub turns 40, the legendary Zentralquartett turns 40 - what could be more obvious than to bring these two anniversaries together and to add "Das Blaue Pony", one of the soon to be legendary Leipzig bands? Exactly.
On September 15, starting at 8 p.m., the grouping of East German jazz will take the stage at the Telegraph: the Zentralquartett. Luden Petrowsky (sax), Conny Bauer (tb), Ulrich Gumbert (p) and Baby Sommer (dr) were already part of the first Leipziger Jazztage and will give one of their very last concerts in this line-up.
The second band of the evening is also an unconventional sound adventure: Johannes Moritz (ts, cl, bcl), Sebastian Wehle (ts, as), Robert Lucaciu (b) and Philipp Scholz (dr) are Das Blaue Pony and gallop through the musical jungle past polyphonic chamber music, contemporary jazz, Waitsian gruffness and electronically inspired sounds and grooves.
Admission: 12 / 8 euros - 5 euros for club members
