Birth of a Leipzig-Cologne-Leipzig piano trio: Jazzclub Live on 12.2. half past eight at the Telegraph.

Arne Donadell (photo) and Gaga Ehlert, both from Leipzig by choice, have been on stage together for years in numerous projects. One of them is Uwe Plath's sextet around the Balinese singer Dian Pratiwi. It was there that the pianist and the drummer met the Cologne double bass player Reza Askari - at the jazz festival in Bali. That could certainly have been closer. Either way, however, the three found that they had a great desire to be on stage as a trio, with their own compositions and with standards. It's good for us that they don't have to travel halfway around the globe again!
