Let's remember last summer: constant dressing and undressing, jumping in lakes, wringing sweat from T-shirts and rinsing dust from toes. Strolling along cocktail bars or other places of amusement, where sunbathers and other lovers were basking, one could hear, accompanied by atmospheric terror, the anti-fascist workers' and partisans' song "Bella Ciao" transformed into a dull, droning, second-rate techno track resounding on the street. Elsewhere, people certainly danced to it, and it's probably not worth hoping that the revival of the partisan song can be read as a collective revolt against the European shift to the right. Now we write 2019 and Benjamin Weidekamp, Uli Kempendorff, Kaspar von Grünigen and Max Andrzejewski will not wait with the harvest until the grain is golden yellow on the fields! These four do not need any lyrics to bring the energy of that music, which was created with and in the protest of the 20th century and which was supposed to stimulate intervening thinking, onto the stage. Played true to the motto "he who sows the wind will reap the storm". Border-crossing experiences are to be expected, a touch of cool melancholy and a revival of battle songs, in the sense of their origin.
