Depending on the scattering of light and conditioned by the content of suspended particles in the air, thirty to forty-five minutes before sunrise, Aurora begins her clearing sky ride. Carl Wittig did well to give his octet the name of the rose-fingered goddess of dawn. The musicians combine the respective tonal beauty of a jazz quartet and a string ensemble into a multi-faceted body of sound. The double bassist founded his ensemble in 2016, inspired by a fascination with classical modernism, jazz and contemporary pop music. From its multitude of instrumental possibilities, the band, always in search of new forms of sound, creates excitement. The concert will also be broadcast live by LeipStream and broadcast on their YouTube channel.
