"Murmurations" can be translated as "swarms" or "flocks", but also as "pack" or "pack". They are everywhere - under and over the oceans, in pedestrian zones, in hives, and as galaxies. They are on the run, they wage war, intonate symphonies, develop forces, adjust to each other in lightning seconds, sometimes threatening, then full of grace and elegance. This trio explores the swarming behavior of quanta, animals, humans and planets.
Norwegian Arve Henriksen delights with electroacoustic landscapes, an unmistakably lyrical trumpet tone and, in addition to his band Supersilent, unpredictable collaborations with the likes of Imogen Heap, Bill Frisell and Motorpsycho. Jan Heinke builds sound sculptures and musical instruments out of steel, founded the Stahlquartett and has been exploring the musical possibilities of the human voice, especially overtone singing, for about 30 years. He comes to the UT with his self-developed steel cello, a giant slow motion for sounds. Demian Kappenstein has studied with Baby Sommer and Eric Schaefer. In the jazz series Feature Ring, he has been playing with international artists every month in Hellerau since 2007. With Masaa the drummer won the world music award RUTH and the German Record Critics Award.
