Jazz Young Talent Award of the City of Leipzig with the support of the Marion Ermer Foundation

In 2020, the City of Leipzig's Jazz Young Talent Award will be presented for the 24th time with the support of the Marion Ermer Foundation. The prize of 6,500 euros is provided by the city of Leipzig.
Musicians and ensembles who are active in the field of jazz and who can be expected to show special artistic development can apply for the prize. They should not be older than 30 years by 31.03.2020 (i.e. have not yet celebrated their 30th birthday) and have their center of life in Leipzig or in the districts of Nordsachsen or Leipzig.
The prize can only be awarded to one person or one ensemble. The prize will be awarded at a prize-winners' concert during the 44th Leipzig Jazz Days in cooperation with Jazzclub Leipzig e. V..
The following application documents must be submitted in triplicate to the Cultural Office of the City of Leipzig, 04092 Leipzig (postal address), between January 1 and March 31, 2020 (postmark):
- Jazz music work sample (demo data carrier, preferably CD)
- Details of the artistic career
- Description and reflection of the current jazz musical activity
- Resume
New: The application documents can also be sent by e-mail as text files (PDF) and the jazz music work samples as online links (for example Soundcloud, YouTube) to kulturamt@leipzig.de until March 31, 2020.
