One step closer to the House of Festivals

We are very pleased that the proposal for the House of Festivals has now been approved by Mayor Burkhard Jung.
For the Leipzig Festival Association ( Jazzclub ) and the Leipzig Jazz Days, the House of Festivals represents far more than just a building. It offers the opportunity to create a shared space for encounters, exchange, and collaboration, and to strengthen Leipzig’s diverse festival and cultural landscape in the long term.
International festivals, in particular, need spaces where artistic work, outreach, networking, and new ideas can take place on a long-term basis. The Haus der Festivals lays the foundation for a shared cultural infrastructure and opens up new opportunities for artists, event organizers, and audiences.
Every day, we experience just how vibrant, diverse, and international Leipzig’s cultural scene is. The House of Festivals showcases this strength while also fostering collaboration among the various stakeholders. Among the participants are: DOK Leipzig, euroscene, LeipJAZZig, the Literary Autumn, and the Schumann House Leipzig.
We would like to thank everyone who has dedicated themselves to this project over the years with great commitment, perseverance, and conviction.
This marks an important milestone for the House of Festivals. The Leipzig City Council will decide on the project’s future onSeptember 30.
