Apply for the Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award! (Deadline: April 22, 2026)
The year 2026 is full of anniversaries—and two of them might be of particular significance to you.
The Marion Ermer Foundation’s Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award is celebratingits 30th anniversary.
To mark this anniversary, the award comes with a one-time prize of20,000 eurosand will be presented to two individuals or bands, each receiving 10,000 euros in prize money.
In addition, the award will bepresentedby the City of Leipzig during the50th Leipzig Jazz Festival, taking place from October 17 to 24, 2026—and, as always, the official award ceremony will be followed by a concert featuring the award recipients.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
The call for entries is open to individuals, bands, or ensembles. Applicants mustbe 30 years of age or younger (born on or after January 1, 1996)andreside in Leipzig or in the districts of Northern Saxony or Leipzig.
The City of Leipzig and the Marion Ermer Foundation value diversity and therefore welcome all applications—regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion or belief, disability, or sexual orientation and identity.
