Let's talk about Jazz!
It's 2017 and these are strange times. Bad news here, bad news there. So we are even more happy when there is good news: three bands and one festival from Leipzig are supported by the Initiative Musik. Congratulations, Nautilus, Charlemagne, White Wine and SeaNaps!

We are particularly pleased for Nautilus and Charlemagne, as we found both bands worthy of support in their early stages and supported them ourselves: Nautilus comes from Robert Lucaciu and Philipp Scholz's Reihe2 series, which is organized by Jazzclub . And we already brought Charlemagne onto the stage when other organizers in Leipzig were still keeping a low profile. It's great to see quality and commitment prevail once again! Quality and commitment also run through a pretty good May program with the New York Spacepiloten, the Move Quintet around Harri Sjöström and Mangelsdorff Prize winner Achim Kaufmann, singer Maike Lindemann, who dedicates herself to the great Nina Simone in Flashback #14, Paul Lapp, who takes his "Forum" to the next level, and exceptional saxophonist Johannes Enders, who meets pianist Florian Kästner. And who will be on stage at the end of the month? Robert Lucaciu and Philipp Scholz, in Reihe2, which is known to be the starting point for excellent projects...
