LET'S TALK ABOUT JAZZ... and... Well.
The onomatopoeic underpainting of a shoulder shrug. Long drawn out questioning at the end of a sentence. Hoping for an answer. Waiting. Ready to continue. Doubting. Justifying. Which is it? "Well." We don't really know either! November is coming to an end, the remaining year is slipping through our fingers and we would like to publish a jazz calendar. But what else is there to announce, and oh, what's the use of all the effort and time now - probably everything is cancelled anyway?
That's why. Because we like to do it! Because we don't want to isolate ourselves. Because behind all the concerts organized by us and others, which may have to be canceled and/or postponed again, there is a tremendous amount of work, enthusiasm and passion in front of and behind the scenes! This should not be secretly and quietly absorbed by the Corona winter tristesse. At some point it will go on and even in the meantime not everything stands still. We meet less and when we do, it's mostly about eye contact, but hey, the partial lockdown can slide down our humps nicely. All this back and forth. We're moving on. Uncertainty is currently our companion and she has never been known for a straight walk. So we lurch tightly through mysterious darkness and enjoy (not even rare) glimpses of light: The 44th Leipzig Jazz Days could actually take place and gave us a multitude of good memories, which we will share with you in this issue. The MusikZeit 2020 is getting a digital stage, the collective fiZZ will provide musical surprises with a digital AdventZZkalender. Innovative ideas are sprouting up all over the place! Our video podcast will continue to provide weekly entertainment, and last but not least, there's radio. Christmas someday. Therefore last, simply, wish and greeting united:
Goodbye!
