From the editorial of the new jazz calendar:
Let's talk about jazz, baby
Welcome back from the summer slump. Finally, concerts again (after all, the "DVD Classic Opens" don't count), finally full clubs and long lines at the bars. As for the upcoming events, it should be an entertaining part of the year:
With Sophie Hunger, Chilly Gonzales or the Jazztage pre-concert for the whole family with LU:V and the GewandhausKinderchor. The Spielvereinigung Sued also returns and presents an exciting program with Anna Webber. Leipzig + Kultur e.V. is also hosting an international congress (with an associated festival) on the present and future of urban cultural work. From the independent scene, for the independent scene. Everyone is invited to participate in thinking, talking and doing: Volunteers, employees and self-employed from theory and practice, artists and cultural workers, but also all curious citizens. Together with experts from culture, administration, science and politics, challenges, potentials and approaches to solutions will be discussed: "kultur I standort.bestimmung" will take place from September 21 to 27. In the extensive supporting program with readings, exhibitions, performances, films and concerts, we present Matti Oehl's quartet with Johannes Enders, Robert Lucaciu and Tom Friedrich on September 24 - save the date! And that brings us to our "Jazzclub Live" program, which also awakens from its summer break: Pablo Held presents his new trio record, Florian Kästner his solo program.
Let's go into the fall and have fun at all the concerts, wishes your Jazzkalender editorial staff
