TELESKOPradius: MARTINA BERTHER + MAX KRAFT + MARY GOULDSBROUGH
From the very beginning, the TELESKOPradius concert series has sought to bring to life the moment of interaction when image meets sound. For the past four years, the “TELESKOP – Studio For Aural Arts” has been presenting experimental electronic music and visual art on an equal footing. The venerable hall at UT Connewitz once again serves as the backdrop for this event.
The artistic focal point for Zurich-based musician Martina Berther is her electric bass, whose conventional role she turns on its head in her live sets. With the help of pedals and objects, she creates gritty yet fragile moments, woven into a journey that shifts between intensity and intimacy.
Max Kraft, from Leipzig, builds on this tradition and has been a key influence on the local ambient scene for quite some time. As a trumpeter and producer, he weaves ethereal sounds from various musical cultures into a continuum of fluid sound.
The music is complemented by the visual art of Mary Gouldsbrough (VizBiz) from Berlin. The focus is not on a one-dimensional illustration of the sound, but rather on an open-ended immersion in color, rhythm, and movement. What can be heard and seen merge into a unique performance.
