63rd Peitz Jazz Workshop (August 14–16, 2026)

The Peitz Jazz Workshop was once hailed as “Woodstock by the Carp Pond.” And rightly so! After all, this refers to two accolades that have always made the festival so special. Now in its 63rd edition, it is steeped in history and takes place at unique venues, so it’s no surprise that the 62nd edition was awarded the 2026 German Jazz Prize.
Whether at the Hammergraben, in the blast furnace hall, or outdoors, breathing in the Lusatian air, you can look forward to the opening concert with Trio Ivoire, then listen to Wanja Slavin’s improvisational experiments, and finally, after an inspiring workshop weekend featuring many other exciting concerts, enjoy Conny Bauer and his “Konradisms” on Sunday.
“Jazz Opens Up New Horizons—A Festival of New Beginnings” is the motto of this year’s edition. With the lineup in mind, there’s nothing left to do but recommend that you head out and experience them for yourself at the Klangwerkstätten.
