Jazztage Dresden 2.-15.11.2011

with Richard Bona, George Duke, Al di Meola, Gonzalo Rubalcaba and many others.

This year, the Jazztage Dresden are again the largest continuous jazz festival in Central Germany: "Listen, See, Marvel" 2011!
In addition to large concerts in the Kulturpalast, Schauspielhaus and the concert hall of the Hochschule für Musik with Céline Rudolph, the 3 Bs "Barber, Bilk and Ball", Auto Auto, Götz Alsmann, Manfred Krug and others, the focus in 2011 will also be on small concerts. Experience stars "up close": in an intimate atmosphere with Al di Meola, Tingvall Trio, Lily Dahab, Richard Bona and Tigran Hamasyan.
The world premiere of the new program of the hosts Klazz Brothers with the Greek singer Maria Markesini can be heard at the Jazz Days, as can the exotic crossover project "Electrocutango" from Norway. Jazz purists will get their money's worth with Gonzalo Rubalcaba, while lovers of a cappella can look forward to the terrific Real Group and the "young savages" of Vocaldente. This year, the festival presents no less than six current ECHO Jazz Award winners
A highlight of this year's Jazz Days is certainly the "Funk & Soul Night" on 11.11. (from 8 p.m.) at Dresden Airport. This year's star guest is George Duke, who has worked as a producer and pianist with Michael Jackson and Al Jarreau, among others, but has also enjoyed success with his own band. Prior to this, the Berlin band Mo' Blow will prove that funk made in Germany is just as good for the legs. The Berlin Jazz & Blues Award-winning formation around saxophonist Felix F. Falk impresses with its rousing concept between jazz and funk. This year, the "Funk & Soul Night" has put together an "all-round carefree package": both parking and travel by VVO public transport are included in the admission price (ticket is valid as a ticket - the last S-Bahn train to the city center is easily accessible after George Duke's concert). In addition, each person will receive a free Margon or Köstritzer drink as a welcome drink on admission. The soundtrack to the welcome drink will be provided live by the Köstritzer Jazzband from 7 pm.
Experience 14 days of 36 concerts with around 200 artists in 17 venues! Look forward with us to 4 artist sessions, where we can guarantee nothing, except for the improvisational power of our artists, and where you can hear and see surprising things late at night. Let us make you curious about 14 days of Jazzlounge and the daily jazz meetings in the QF (except Sunday) - with free admission.
Tickets are available at the known advance booking offices or via the ticket hotline: (0351) 8627390 or on the Internet via www.dresdenticket.de or www.jazztage-dresden.de
