Jazzkalender #327

LET'S TALK ABOUT JAZZ ... And expelling.

Step outside the door, take a deep breath. The scent of earth, tulips and daffodils, of new wood rises to your nose. Breathe out. It is the month of the beginning of spring, the time when nature awakens to new life. Tender little plants are sprouting up everywhere, trees are budding, forming new wood, flowers and leaves.

So what could be more fitting than listening to the music of Trieders Holz this month? Exactly. Nothing. That's what we thought too, which is why we invited the band led by alto flutist Conni Trieder to the Kulturhof Gohlis on March 7. The quartet impresses with chamber music jazz consisting of a special line-up of two flutes, bass clarinet and double bass.

To mark the start of spring on March 20, musicians Florian Müller, Frederik Kleimann, Ulrich Hübner, Alma Trunk and Anton Mück will be performing on the naTo stage in another Flashback edition dedicated to the legendary "Little Giant" Johnny Griffin.

Leipzig has a few more events in store for those who are feeling even more springtime energy and a desire for concerts: The Monday jazz series at Laden auf Zeit has been reactivated and can now be attended every Monday from March 4. The Kidsjazz L.E. (8-10 March) invites children and young people to get to know each other and make music together, and the 28th LeipJAZZig Spring Festival (14-17 March) rounds off March with a promising line-up. You can find more event tips on the following pages.
