Jazzkalender #322

LET'S TALK ABOUT JAZZ ... and transitional phases.

We are in a transition phase. Clearly. It's that strange state between two big events, between day and night, between summer and fall, between sleep and awakening. Or in our Jazzclub words: between MUSIKZEIT and Leipziger Jazztage. This state in which the goal is clearly in sight, but has not yet been reached. A holding out, a waiting. Or a joyful working towards it.

We can look back with satisfaction on a very successful summer at MUSIKZEIT in the Villa Hasenholz (you can find a short recap in this issue of Jazzkalender). At the same time, we are already looking forward to our Leipzig Jazz Days in October.

And in the transition phase? Our hand-picked tips for going out are the best way to get through this autumnal interim period. Not only Leipzig, but also more distant places offer great jazz opportunities: the Jazz Open in Hamburg or the Klangspuren Schwaz Festival in Austria invite you to musical short trips.

For those who prefer to stay closer to home, we recommend the Roots&Sprouts Festival (16.-17.9.) at the Kulturnhalle, a concert by SHRAMM (22.9.) at Horns Erben and the Insomnia Brass Band at Villa Ida on 30.9.

We'll be back in full swing in October with the 47th edition of the Leipziger Jazztage. But not only the festival will be celebrated, but also an anniversary - read more about it on the following pages.

See you where the music plays.
