Sun-Mi Hong Quintet

A little more than ten years ago, Sun-Mi Hong came to Europe from South Korea to study drums. She found a new home in Amsterdam and met her band mates from Scotland, Italy and Korea, who have been accompanying her as her quintet line-up for several years. Starting under not so easy conditions, Sun-Mi Hong has found her own way with a lot of willpower and is now one of the most sought-after young musicians in Europe.

With "Third Page: Resonance" (Edition Records), the quintet released its third album in 2022. Together with the first two albums (First Page, Second Page), it forms a chronicle of Sun-Mi Hong's artistic biography. The creative and life-affirming energy that speaks from it generates an infectious pull - the contrasting and emotional interplay of composed and improvised passages demands the undivided attention of all listeners.
