You haven't heard such promising and seductive jazz in a long time. The BMW Welt Jazz Award winner 2019 presents his ECM album "Unloved".

With his album "Unloved," released in 2017 on ECM Records, Polish saxophonist and BMW Welt Jazz Award winner Maciej Obara has achieved a breakthrough. The album convinces with its lyrical depths of sound, fathomed with playful ease. The formative time that Obara experienced as a sideman of Tomasz Stanko is unmistakable. Like his great mentor, he is also connected to the Scandinavian jazz scene with its special melodic, harmonic feeling. The Polish-Norwegian line-up of the quartet also reflects an ideal synthesis of both countries.
Maciej Obara (sax), Dominik Wania (p), Ole Morten Vågan (kb), Michal Miskiewicz (dr)
