JOHANNES LUDWIG "VAGABOND SOULS" #2

This year saw the launch of "Vagabond Souls", the latest project from composer and saxophonist Johannes Ludwig, who has produced more than ten albums in the last 15 years.

The pieces were completed only 14 days before the recording session in the chamber music hall of Deutschlandfunk. This tight schedule was made possible by the fact that the line-up had already known each other for years and had perfected their interplay in many other projects. Exceptionally warm and full, the two guitars complement the winds in chord and melody, driven forward and always wonderfully accentuated by the rhythm section. "Vagabond Souls" creates a modern sound of international quality, recurs again and again the fusion of the 70s, is catchy and above all pretty cool. With its perfectly balanced arrangements, sometimes groovy and sometimes downright poetic, "Vagabond Souls" is a highlight of this year's Jazz Days.
