Somewhere between jazz, blues, surf and noise, the exceptional guitarist Tobias Hoffmann yowls, babbles, quotes, jubilates and croaks with a variety of sounds and styles. His companions Frank Schönhofer (bass) and Etienne Nillesen (drums) convince as a grooving and creative rhythm team. Sometimes bizarre, sometimes schmaltzy, the trio breathes new life into old hits. There is no need to cross musical borders, because the three make it clear: they simply do not exist. Tobias Hoffmann has boundless imagination and creativity, not to forget a good portion of humor with which he works on the pieces. On the brand new album "Blues, Ballads & Britney" the slow stomping blues song meets a distorted rocking version of the Britney Spears hit "Toxic", in between Hoffmann reaches for the banjo to transform Thelonious Monks "Ask Me Now" into a Dixieland ballad.
