The Bad Plus
The most important piano trio of the last 20 years finally returns to the big stage
The Bad Plus finally returns to the Jazz Days stage. The legendary band from the USA has been redefining the acoustic jazz piano trio since 2000: the improvisational frenzy of Ethan Iverson (piano), Reid Anderson (double bass) and David King (drums) in the gesture of rock musicians creates a live dynamic that is hard to resist. In their own words, influenced by Stravinsky and Ornette Coleman, the band has played pieces by Nirvana, Queen, Black Sabbath, Abba and Björk. In the process, the trio created an original band sound that put them in league with the Esbjörn Svensson Trio.
