Stage Night Special

Every Tuesday from October to June, a young Leipzig band plays at the HMT Stage Night - followed by many more at the open jam session. Every year during the Leipzig Jazz Days, there is a special event in the series that gives the young Leipzig scene a forum in the festival. This year, the Stage Night Special moves to the Telegraph for the first time - and also invites to the big festival session.
The Leipzig double bass player Paul Lapp has made a name for himself in recent years, especially with the band Killerfuchs and in a trio with Philip Frischkorn and Philipp Scholz. For his "Forum" he now throws the rules of addition overboard: From the two different trios and the trumpeter Jan Kaiser he forms a sextet. Three plus three plus one equals six, crazy. Together, the young musicians from the HMT's environment dedicate themselves to improvisation and freedom in dealing with musical forms and traditions.
