Always on the lookout for new sounds, Risser found what she was looking for inside her piano. She systematically catalogs the nuances of sound that can be achieved by placing various objects, small motors or magnets, plates, bowls, hollow bodies, balls, beads or pillows, on the strings of the instrument. In this way, Risser has created for herself an instrument of her own, an extended piano that opens up an orchestrally expanded dimension to her playing.
