GEZA COTARD "DAPHNE"
Thu 22.10. Schauspiel Leipzig 22:00 hrs.
An angst pop drone jazz sci-fi evening. Composer Friederike Bernhardt was inspired by Ovid's "Metamorphoses" for the festival's own production of this year's Leipzig Jazz Days.
DAPHNE is the first collaboration between the band GEZA COTARD and the Swiss video artists Susanne Hofer and Stefan Bischoff. For the festival's own production, composer Friederike Bernhardt was inspired by this year's motto "Transitions" and Ovid's "Metamorphoses", especially Daphne's transformation. The 2000-year-old material about the transformation of a girl into a laurel tree serves as an associative space for an angst-pop-drone-jazz-sci-fi evening.
