Duo Krokenberger/Oehl
Delicately balanced improvised music of the present by two young Leipzigers - with church organ and saxophone!
Tickets 8 - 14 Euro
The two musicians share a long training in improvisation, as well as the history of their instruments. The organ, as one of the oldest instruments, dates from a time when improvisation was a commonplace musical tool. As composition became the overwhelming standard of creative expression throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, improvisation often found refuge only on the organ, if for no other reason than purely worshipful practice. Fortunately, jazz has given new impetus to the spontaneous invention of music, and it is impossible to imagine the history of the same without the saxophone. Therefore, two musical relatives meet here.
The duo renounces musical agreements of any kind. Trust, open ears and quick reactions are the starting point of every concert. Regularly making music together ensures a coherent aesthetic conception and shapes the unique sound language of this line-up.
Arno Krokenberger (org) and Matti Oehl (sax)
