Arve Henriksen Quartet

Arve Henriksen (tp), Helge Sten (git, electronics), Audun Kleive (dr), Helge Norbakken (dr).
Arve Henriksen has always been fascinated by the tonal possibilities of the trumpet. Japanese flute music fascinated and influenced Henriksen with its expressive, meditative and minimalistic quality. He succeeded in transferring the warm, soft and airy sound of the shakuhachi to the trumpet. This sound became his trademark.
Nevertheless, he was influenced by various kinds of folk music, contemporary music and electronic music. During the last years he concentrated a lot on his singing.
Arve Henriksen is a founding member of the legendary band Supersilent. He has worked with bands and artists as diverse as Jon Balke, Motorpsycho, Christian Wallumrod, Marc Ducret, Nils Petter Molvaer, The Cikada String Quartet and Marilyn Mazur.
