Antonio Sanchez Migration & solo with dancers of the Leipzig Ballet
The four-time Grammy winner's "Meridian Suite" with band and vocals, solo percussion with choreography by the director of the Leipzig Ballet
Antonio Sanchez is a four-time Grammy Award winner and composer of the soundtrack to the Oscar-winning film "Birdman." The U.S. star, who has been a permanent drummer with Pat Metheny since 2000, plays with his own acclaimed band Migration. This is formed by Dave Binney (saxophone), John Escreet (piano) and Matt Brewer (bass). The quartet introduces its new album, "The Meridian Suite," a 60-minute musical piece by Sanchez in which he exhibits his compositional skills as never before.
In addition, the audience can expect a great premiere: Antonio Sanchez solo percussion with a choreography by ballet director Mario Schröder and dancers of the Leipzig Ballet, which is the center of the "Schöne Künste" anniversary festival.
