What a history! The Jazztage are celebrating their anniversary - and for the first time since 1987 are returning to the venue that made the festival great from 1978 onwards. And who would be better suited for an anniversary special concert of a very special kind than the heroes of yesteryear in brand-new, young projects? Exactly. Free jazz icon Günter 'Baby' Sommer plays "Before the Wall - After the Wall" with the no less iconic Friedhelm Schönfeld and the young Dresdeners Julia Kadel and Walburga Walde (piano and vocals). Rolf and Joachim Kühn, always closely associated with Leipzig and the Jazztage, form a unique supergroup from their current Berlin scene bands UNIT and New Trio, as well as guests Tomasz Stańko and Asja Valcic.
