This call goes out to everyone who is under 30 years old: From now until March 31, 2023 you can apply for the Jazz Young Talent Award.

Since 1997, the city of Leipzig has awarded the Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award, endowed by the Marion Ermer Foundation, in the amount of 6,500 euros each year. It serves to promote and recognize the artistic achievements of young up-and-coming artists in the field of jazz. The winner will receive the prize at the 47th Leipzig Jazz Days. The official award ceremony will be followed by a concert of the awarded person or ensemble.

The call for applications is open to individuals and ensembles who will not be older than 30 by December 31, 2023 (from the date of birth January 1, 1993) and have their center of life in Leipzig or in the districts of Nordsachsen or Leipzig. In the case of applications from ensembles, all members must be under 30 years of age.

Applications can be sent from now until March 31, 2023 , preferably by e-mail to jazznachwuchspreis@leipzig.de or by post to the Cultural Office of the City of Leipzig, 04092 Leipzig (postal address).

2. tabular resume
3. jazz music work sample(s) (as online links, for example Soundcloud, Youtube)
4. Description of and reflection on the current, own jazz-musical acting
