Double concert with Andreas Schaerer "A novel of anomaly" - For over ten years now the Tobias Hoffmann Trio has been making music together and it still gives them great pleasure. Us too!

The booklet of "Slow Dance" is a kind of memory and association album of Hoffmann - "who can't be missing anywhere where contemporary guitar is concerned" (Jazzthing, 2018) - and thus contains a short text worth reading for each of the eight interpreted songs, which enriches the musical work of the guitarist with a soft spot for "jazz, blues, surf & noise" with his stories about cassettes, Nicki sweaters, Remscheid and MTV.

Hoffmann allows past and present to intertwine so deeply, thereby broadening the perspective on his musical work. For over ten years, the trio has been interpreting songs and standards from various genres and eras. The only requirement is that they are pleasing to the ear, that they can be brought to life with the band's sound. Hoffmann writes himself: "It always gives me such pleasure to play with Frank on bass and Etienne on drums. Especially the way we groove together makes me very happy and sometimes a little proud. And the band is a bit strange, I like that too."
