Rahel Hutter and Niklas Kraft make music with different instruments and DAWs and experiment with alienations of sound and text fragments. Second concert at 23:59.

Communication is important, but it's also confusing. At a time when technical possibilities are constantly providing new tools and occasions to communicate, modern exchanges are less like sincere dialogue and more like discreet cacophony. Screaming into the void and at each other. One could bring order into the chaos ... or simply embrace it and create a sound that is equally deeply anchored in this restless dynamic, but also creates its own microcosm. A communication platform of its own - human algorithms against our smartphone feeds: a little truth of it all may be discernible in Snakesoda's sound. "Hidden Links" is the name of the joint work by Rahel Hutter and Niklas Kraft, which itself sounds like a flickering collection of various threads of conversation.

For many years Hutter and Kraft have been moving in different fields of tension of experimental sounds between electronica, jazz, classical and avant-garde. That their paths finally meet is overdue, but probably also one of those cosmic coincidences to which the music alludes in terms of content. Sometimes it jumps in your face, like in the title track, which flirts quite openly with pop structures and doesn't even want to deny its technoid foundation. Then again it becomes atonal, unpredictable, twists are built into the synthetic sound that you don't see coming. And while the listeners are still analyzing how to classify the last musical branch, the next one is already coming around the corner. Like a good conversation, the two musicians are always striking new notes. Hutter's poetic lyrics are in constant exchange with the music. It is not a question of who wins this contest. The audience is welcome to decide that. It's much more about the process, enduring the contradictions, dealing with dissonances and that pleasant feeling when everything comes together in the end. Yes, a little more of this spirit would do society good in its everyday communication. "Hidden Links" is an invitation - to exchange, to dialogue and to a musical fever dream, from which you don't want to wake up so quickly.
