Jazzanova is one of Berlin's longest-lived music collectives. In the late nineties, five DJs and producers attracted attention with their fusion of jazz elements and club-affine, electronic sounds. In 2018, after a ten-year hiatus, "The Pool" was released - that album that so well conveys that feeling that unites the musicians involved in their work: the "pool feeling" - "We are DJs, music producers, there is our own radio show, we are a live band, there are very many facets that are in this pool, many different singers, many different influences, and that's why we called the album Pool," said Axel Reinemer and Stefan Leisering, the Jazzanova producers in Deutschlandfunk-Kultur about their project. The ensemble is constantly - from rhythm to rhythm, from style to style - in the making. With "The Pool" the Berlin collective delivers in any case an ultimate summer record: Warm, sunny and inviting to dance (also and especially in Leipzig's autumn!).
