Hypochondriacal fears
Prices
Unconventional, experimental and eloquent - the ensemble Hypochondrische Ängste, founded last year, turns some musical habits on their heads. With sound pieces, associative sound cascades and performance snippets by word artist Jorinde Minna Markert, their sound becomes, by their own description, a kind of broken pop music with a system.
The seven experienced musicians draw on the full range of their skills, playing together and side by side, in time and out of time - like a set of gears whose little teeth never quite want to click into place. Harmonically inharmonious in perfect execution.
Hypochondriac Fears also self-confidently question the well-known formula of text + music = song. What the seven musicians* bring to the stage are non-songs, or "songs" in quotation marks, as they themselves say. Within these, the ensemble traces the simultaneities of a hectic present. Phenomena such as bubbleteashops, subway stations or dystopian wonderlands thematically take center stage. A detailed description and still not really smarter? We can't say more, because we are curious ourselves - but convinced: Listening to Hypochondriac Fears is worth it!
