LEIPZIGER JAZzTAGE

15 Corners Of The World

UT Connewitz

The documentary subtly explores the sound worlds of composer Eugeniusz Rudnik - an ode to the analog age.

In 2014, the Polish/German documentary was shown at the DOK Festival and made such a lasting impression on members of our team with its subtly told story that we couldn't help but include this ode to the analog age in the supporting program of the 43rd Leipzig Jazz Days "Future Music". The starting point of the cinematic journey is the legendary experimental studio of Polish Radio, where science fiction sounds were created in the 60s, in a sound laboratory that itself seemed like the control center of a spaceship. The stubborn composer Eugeniusz Rudnik is still working on his analog editing suite to create undreamed-of spheres of sound. Discarded tape strips, voices, stones and more become the basic material for his compositions. The camera goes experimental ways, translates the acoustic dimensions into dance, landscape, architecture and offers on this way a multitude of interpretations, which become an amazing cinematic experience.
