Uli Kempendorff's FIELD "Someone talked" (Canceled)

With the third release of his band FIELD, the Berlin saxophonist finally comes back to Leipzig!
"Someone talked" was released in July 2021 by the Munich-based label enja/yellowbird and is the first record in a new band line-up with Christopher Dell on vibraphone, Peter Bruun on drums and Jonas Westergaard on double bass. "The appeal of our playing together for me is the hyper-awake state in which we try to follow each other - sometimes like a cat and mouse game, sometimes like running side by side. Part of it is the abundance of tone and sound information, especially through the vibraphone. For me, this is something overwhelming, an offering of different simultaneous listening paths through the music," Kempendorff says of the new formation, which has already been playing concerts together since 2018. Listening to compositions like "Dresden", "Everything" or "Kopfkino" (all recorded unamplified, by the way) unfolds - if not heard incidentally - a promising soul effect and makes one long for the live experience.
