39th Leipzig Jazztage: Jazzelectric Night
The warm, decelerated head music of Cologne groove organizer Burnt Friedman caresses both body and soul. His timeless hybrids of dub, kraut and ethno meet vocal shreds by Daniel Dodd-Ellis, who is both a Texan opera singer and a Hamburg soul singer, to kick off this year's "Jazzelectric Night".
Afterwards, trumpeter Maciej Fortuna, who was celebrated at the naTo during the last Leipzig Jazztage, electro producer An On Bast and video artist Pawel Pywych will devote themselves to the film music of their Polish compatriot Krzysztof Penderecki. Born in 1933, the "late modern classic" became famous for the soundtracks for "The Exorcist," "Shining" and "Shutter Island," among others. - An On Bast (elec), Maciej Fortuna (tp) and Paweł Wypych (visuals) - Support: Porpoise (dj)
