Leipzig Jazz Days meet South Tyrol Jazz Festival!

The cooperation with the South Tyrol Jazz Festival initiated for the Leipzig Jazz Days 2020 "Transitions" will be continued!

Already in October last year, the concert of Wild Brush in Leipzig, which was featured at short notice by the Leipzig pianist Olga Reznichenko at the request of the band, testified to the inspiring synergy of the exchange.

As part of this year's South Tyrol Jazz Festival Alto Adige, which has invited musicians from regions along the Danube under the motto "New Listening - with a Distant View", A Word Is A Swallow, a lineup of musicians from Leipzig and Cologne, will perform on June 27 in the Kapuzinerpark in Bolzano. The curatorship of the Leipziger Jazztage had suggested the band to the team of the South Tyrol Jazz Festival.

Theresia Philipp (sax), Olga Reznichenko (p), Philipp Scholz (dr) and Robert Lucaciu (kb), in their first live performance in this constellation, embark on a search for intermediate spaces along free improvisation and the fixed. In doing so, the four fuse their inspirations from the African-American tradition and the modernism of the early 20th century.

We are happy about the continuation of the cooperation and are already excited about which project we will bring to Leipzig together for our festival in autumn.
