WORK 2

Double concert with Moritz von Oswald - Their joint project TAU5 brings together five successful musicians from the young German jazz scene: Philipp Gropper on saxophone, Philip Zoubek on synthesizers and keys, Ludwig Wandinger with electronic mixing and editing, Felix Henkelhausen on bass and electronics, and Moritz Baumgärtner on drums.

Musically, TAU5 oscillates between free jazz and fusion with beat-heavy hip-hop elements - individual parts are reminiscent of elaborately produced soundtracks.

In a collective process of composition, improvisation and arrangement, the five musicians find the vocabulary for their own sound language. To do this, they cleverly combine pre-prepared sound passages with free improvisations. TAU5 enriches these in turn with already edited sessions. Complex drum patterns, alienated plug-ins and natural sounds create an atmosphere that is hard to beat in terms of density. Finally, everything goes through the ears and hands of Ludwig Wandinger, who re-edits each piece. The result: futuristic, virtuosic and courageous!
