Double concert with Nils Kugelmann Trio - Moritz Stahl interprets the modern jazz quintet in his own way. As a sought-after and versatile saxophonist, he has been active in numerous ensembles for years.

Musically, he moves between traditional jazz, contemporary trends, experimental sounds and electronic music. In the Moritz Stahl Quintet he devotes himself above all to his personal understanding of contemporary jazz, unfolds in all its facets and offers his band colleagues space for their individuality.

Even before he began his jazz studies in Munich, Moritz Stahl played several tours with the Bundesjazzorchester. After successfully graduating, he began a second degree in composition. Winner of many awards, he recently won the Junger Müchner Jazzpreis 2022 and the BMW Young Artist Jazz Award 2022.

The Moritz Stahl Quintet brings together musicians from the young German jazz scene from all parts of the country: Fabian Arends from Cologne on drums, Julius Windisch from Berlin on piano, bassist Lorenz Heigenhuber from Leipzig and guitarist Philipp Schiepek, a longtime friend and companion of Moritz Stahl from Munich.
