BabY BoOmer meets Florian Kästner
The Leipzig jazz luminaries Werner Neumann (g), Robert Lucaciu (b), Philipp Scholz (dr) AND Florian Kästner (rhodes, p) together on one stage. And on ours! The ticket reservation list is getting longer and longer...
Radiohead, dub and ballads about Ash Wednesday crash onto weird improvisations over free beats - and vice versa. That could be one attempt to describe the Leipzig phenomenon BabY BoOmer around guitar prof Werner Neumann. Another would be: Between Ornette and Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Abercrombie, the trio creates a sound reminiscent of (art-) rock bands of the 70s, but mainly influenced by jazz with its love of detail.
After a great Addis Ababa special in the fall, this time the trio meets up with longtime musical friend Florian Kästner (Rhodes and grand piano) and thus with a Leipzig native whose fine playing characterizes, among other things, his concert series at the Telegraph and the performances of the Spielvereinigung Sued.
