40th Leipziger Jazztage: PLOT / Erdmann Rohrer Courtois Möbus "Ten Pictures about real Utopia
Finally! Robert Lucaciu receives the Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award this year. The prize is now traditionally presented during the Jazz Days, along with a check for 6,500 euros from the Marion Ermer Foundation. Robert will play the prize winner's concert afterwards with Basti Wehle and Philipp Scholz, the band that is immortalized on his license plate.
In "Ten Pictures about real Utopia", the Jazzau quartet Daniel Erdmann, Samuel Rohrer, Vincent Courtois and Frank Möbus improvise musically, while the artist Jean Michel Hannecart paints abstract pictures live, whose creation the audience can follow on the screen in the UT. He uses a technique that originates from the Flemish school of the 15th century.
