40th Leipzig Jazz Days: Josef Reßle Trio / The Bad Plus / Meshell Ndegeocello
The third opera evening is all about the great jazz stars from the USA: The Bad Plus, arguably the most important piano trio of the past 20 years, returns to beloved Leipzig and presents its new album "It's hard," deconstructing pop music from Johnny Cash to Kraftwerk to Prince.
Meshell Ndegeocello stands for a unique mix of soul, spoken word, R&B, jazz, hip hop and rock. Anyone who has ever seen the Berlin-born bandleader, bassist and singer live knows: you have to expect the unexpected from her! Her music testifies to a poetic, spiritual search for love, respect, justice and happiness. Groove and melody always play a major role.
Josef Re?le is a young pianist from Munich and he is the first winner of the new BMW Welt Young Artist Jazz Award. In cooperation with BMW AG and the City of Munich, the Jazzclub presents Reßle's award winner concert on the Jazztage stage.
