Jazz calendar #297

LET'S TALK ABOUT JAZZ ... AND ... THREE, TWO, ONE ...
Attention: this is a countdown! We won't be launching a rocket anytime soon (which doesn't mean that our bang won't be the start of a star ride), but the time countdown nevertheless leads us to time zero, the beginning of the 43rd Leipzig Jazz Days "Future Music". Since the September jazz calendar, the (framework) program has changed quite a bit and no less than four more bands are now in the line-up.
This year's Jazzelectric Night will feature two bands at two venues. First, Jazzanova at Werk 2: As a production house, remix team, radio producer, label operator and, above all, as a band, the musician collective has left a lasting mark on club culture in terms of nu-jazz. Afterwards, the trio Bobby Rausch grooves uncompromisingly in the naTo and leads us into deep bass valleys and pulsating soundscapes. As the second act at Schaubühne Lindenfels, after Samuel Rohrer & Hilde Marie Holsen, violinist Gerdur Gunnarsdóttir and clarinetist Claudio Puntin intertwine Nordic sounds, folk and contemporary music in a highly virtuosic dialogue to create a spiritual sound magic full of beauty. Before the concerts begin at the Kunstkraftwerk, Arne Reimer and Michael Rausch dedicate themselves to the 50th anniversary of ECM Records in "33 RPM - Knistergeflüster". Another component of this year's supporting program is the panel discussion "Aufmucken? A German History of Jazz." at the Schauspielhaus with music journalist Wolf Kampmann and Wolfram Knauer, director of the Jazzinstitut Darmstadt. With "Space is the place" and "15 Corners of the World", the Jazz Days also have a cinematic program again. You see: our 43rd festival autumn will be eventful! Fasten your seatbelts, although: you don't have to.
...zero! The future starts now!
