"I know who I am/ I don't need to discuss that", sings Nora Lyn Handschuh in the single "Thoughtchange, Not Change" by the band Lyn & The Fingers. The young Leipzig group transforms this uncompromising, yet searching and chaotic attitude unmistakably into their music.

Their songs, which are written in both German and English and range between jazz and progressive pop, revolve around themes such as self-discovery and self-doubt. When the sextet plays together, each instrument enters into the musical dialog in its own way: sometimes with a discreet voice in the background, the next moment with solo qualities in the front row. This is how the polyphonic sound fabric of Lyn & The Fingers gradually takes shape, song by song. 

Their first EP "Thoughtchange", which they released at the end of July, features new arrangements as well as original compositions that stand out for their musical diversity and poetic depth. "Everything flows" could be a leitmotif that is reflected in the band's music and lyrics: Sounds and melodies glide, changing like ever-changing waters. At times gentle and narrative, at others the musical flow is interrupted by unpredictable changes of direction and developed further until it is caught again by the next wave. The result is a sound that carries you away and sets you in motion - like currents that you like to surrender to.
