Summer is over. But Valentina Oefele won't let it go so easily - and brings it back to the stage with "Baritona"!

With her project, the baritone saxophonist creates a musical monument to the sunny season. At times dance-like and exuberant, at other times lyrical and melancholic, she focuses on the mare italiano - the Italian sea. She combines atmosphere with groove, while jazz rhythms go hand in hand with folkloristic melodies. All of this culminates in the septet playing together with a soothing lightness and elegance rarely heard in this form. At the same time, the complex arrangements, peppered with surprising twists and turns, testify to the musical sophistication and dexterity of the members.

Oefele is no longer a stranger to the Munich music scene: whether as a member of the avant-garde pop band SiEA, the Munich Lab Band, the Oumuamua Evgenij Zelikman Orchestra or in numerous theater productions - the musical qualities of the half-Italian have been in demand for years. She has also performed on stage as a guest musician with the Austrian cult band Wanda. Her work as a DJ for the feminist hip-hop duo Die Arschlöcherinnen also testifies to the breadth of her musical horizons.

Despite all his artistic activity, "Baritonia" remains a project close to Oefele's heart. An indelible promise is inscribed in its musical DNA as the ultimate certainty - tutto passa ma non la dolce vita. Which means something like: Everything passes, but not the sweet life.
