Lyn&TheFingers receive the Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award from the Marion Ermer Foundation

Congratulations! The band Lyn&TheFingers (under the direction of Nora Lyn Handschuh) are the winners of this year's Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award from the Marion Ermer Foundation. The prize, awarded by the foundation with the support of the City of Leipzig, will be presented on October 12, 2025 as part of the 49th Leipzig Jazz Days at the Beyerhaus.
This year's jury, which selected the winners from a total of eight high-quality applications, consisted of bassist Eva Kruse, singer Lucia Cadotsch and music journalist Stefan Gerdes. The jury's statement said: "Lyn & The Fingers impress with their personality, openness and freshness. The band around singer and composer Nora Lyn Handschuh is an excellent example of the creative potential of the young Leipzig scene. Their interpretations of well-known songs combine the immediacy of pop with the improvisational quality of jazz. Particularly noteworthy are Nora Lyn Handschuh's own compositions and arrangements, which are worked out together in a collective process. In them, the band stages musical stories in a diverse, genre-open way - with intelligent lyrics that deal with the existence of a young generation and surprising stylistic twists that organically provide space for solo playing and interaction. At the center is the infectious energy and authenticity of singer Nora Lyn Handschuh. Her creative and risk-taking vocals show great artistic potential."
