Jazz for kids

Gerhard Schöne, LU:V & Gewandhaus Children's Choir on Oct. 1, 11 a.m. in the main opera hall
The Leipzig Jazz Days are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year and have prepared a very special children's birthday party! In the great hall of the Leipzig Opera, none other than Gerhard Schöne invites you to a musical journey around the world. His new songs tell stories of children from the most diverse cultures, from Asia, Africa, Europe and Central America. And because traveling alone is no fun, he has brought along the Gewandhaus Children's Choir and the jazz trio LU:V for this concert, which some may have experienced with its great DEFA animated film settings. At each stop on the journey we meet a child who tells us his or her story. Sometimes we hear about very small, everyday joys or sorrows, sometimes they touch on the very big issues, which are not just issues for the big ones.
The concert with Gerhard Schöne, LU:V and the Gewandhaus Children's Choir will take place in the venerable Great Hall of the Leipzig Opera House, and because the Jazzclub Leipzig e.V. is so wonderfully supported in this, tickets for children under 12 years of age cost only 5 euros in advance, for all others 8 euros. At the box office it will cost 8 or 11 euros. Many thanks for the support to the Leipzigstiftung, the Sparkasse Leipzig, Kaufland and the Leipziger Volkszeitung!
