Damian Dalla Torre is no stranger to the local jazz scene. In countless formations such as Spielvereinigung Sued, Lobster, Coastline Paradox or Beyond w/ Bernhardt, he has made a name for himself in recent years. However, he no longer sees himself as a jazz musician - "at least not only", as he emphasizes in conversation with the editorial team.

The reason for this is his solo project, which came about rather by chance during the pandemic. "Happy Floating" was the name of his debut from 2022, which was followed this summer by his second album "I Can Feel My Dreams". And in fact, he only touches on jazz in terms of sound aesthetics. Instead, the sound on both albums is characterized by a weightless ambient atmosphere. New-age-like synthesizers catapult the listener into distant dream spheres. But his music is far from shallow entertainment: the instrumentation is complex for all its subtlety, with 19 musicians involved in the creation of the debut alone.
