Rainald Brederling Quintet
The Rainald Brederling Quintet formed in Weimar in the summer of 2018. In keeping with the times, the band embarked on a search for itself - or rather for Rainald. Because he has disappeared. And so, strictly speaking, the quintet is a quartet - but that doesn't detract from the band's fascination, on the contrary!
Without Rainald, the Rainald Brederling Quintet has been making music together for six years now, sometimes loud and sometimes quiet, sometimes stormy and sometimes subtle. With their first studio album "Angry Voicemail to E.A." (2022), the band set an example for a future world without gender traditions, deforestation, waste and the smell of gasoline. Following on from this, the rhythm section around drummer Eddy Sonnenschein and double bassist Grégoire Pignède makes both the circumstances and the audience dance. Despite the joy of experimentation, there is always enough room for melodiousness and recognition value in the pieces, to which the characteristic soul voice of singer Sonia Loenne makes a decisive contribution.
The final question remains: who dances longer - the circumstances or the audience? - Robin Rauhut (p), Sonia Loenne (voc), Grégoire Pignède (b), Eddy Sonnenschein (dr) - VVK 11/8 € plus fees
